Landscape Trends of 2016
Spring is quickly approaching, and as our installers are getting prepared to start new landscape projects for clients, we look at what to expect for 2016.
1. Paving Stone Patterns using Multi Sized Pavers
Using a single size paving stone pattern on your patio or pathway can offer a clean and uniform look, however, using a pattern that includes 3 or more sizes can provide an interesting and unique feel and can add character to your home and landscape. Paving stone manufacturers are now offering these higher end products in many varieties that are allowing for a more custom look.
2. Natural Stone Boulders
While being durable and easy to maintain, natural stone can offer a timeless and unique look. A beautiful option is Ironstone, as it blends in perfectly and compliments any natural landscape. Natural stone boulders can be used for retaining walls, garden beds and are also available in slabs which can be used for steps – a look that is sure to impress!
3. Composite Decks
Composite decking is being used more and more for deck construction and it’s no surprise, since this man-made product has many advantages. Available in many styles and colours, these durable boards will not splinter or rot and are very low maintenance – no more staining! It also environmentally friendly as it’s made from recycled materials.
4. Vinyl Fencing
Offering an attractive aesthetic, complete privacy and available in a variety of different styles and colours, vinyl fencing is a great alternative to wood and other fencing materials. Similar to composite decking, vinyl fencing requires minimal maintenance, if any at all. It is much stronger than wood and you will never have to worry about water damage, rusting or decomposing.
Of course landscape trends will always evolve as many new products become available, but ultimately, creating a space that compliments your own personal style is always the best way to go to ensure you will enjoy it for many years to come.
